Why is toy play so important?

Play is the best way to stimulate a young child in their early development and is fundamental to good caregiver-child bonding.

Through play, children learn how to:

  • Explore and understand the world (by touching, looking, imagining and creating)

  • Communicate (by listening, trying out new words and expressing their needs)

  • Receive and show love (by talking and laughing together, and by sharing warm interactions with their caregiver) & so much more!

The quality of a child’s early experiences has a profound impact on their cognitive, emotional, physical and social development from birth into adulthood. Providing plenty of sustained, stimulating caregiver-child play helps children to develop to their best potential.
