Meet Our Team
Aoife Clark-McGhee
Hi there! My name’s Aoife and I am a medical doctor currently working in acute psychiatry in London, UK. During my final year of medical school I completed a 6 months research internship at the Department of Developmental Neurology at the University Medical Center Groningen. I hope to pursue a career in child & adolescent psychiatry. I want to use my voice as a doctor to advocate for wider access to vital ECD-opportunities and greater equality in access to child healthcare services.
Benedetta
Hello! My name is Benedetta and I am training to be a paediatrician.
During my studies I learned about the essential role of psychosocial stimulation for a child's healthy development. Unfortunately, its importance is often underestimated. That is why I set up GRASP together with my colleagues Aoife and Svea. Our goal is to educate parents and caregivers on the importance of intergenerational toy play. In this way, we hope to contribute to improving the developmental outcomes and ultimately quality of life of the children who take part in toy making workshops.
Svea Nolte
Hi, my name is Svea! I am currently in my last year of Medicine and next to it I’m doing an MD-PhD at the Department of Neurology and Internal Medicine at the UMC Groningen. When we got the chance to go to South Africa for our Bachelor project I learned that the best projects are created from nurturing teamwork. By working together with local healthcare professionals and setting up the Toy Making Workshops we were able to organize an amazing project for the caregivers of hospitalised children. Giving parents the resources to improve their child’s well-being and perspective is why I hope we’ll get the chance to take the Toy Making Project to as many other hospitals as possible!
