About GRASP
GRASP (The Groningen Association for Sustainable Play) is a Dutch non-profit organisation (NPO) founded by 3 soon-to-be medical doctors, Benedetta Broggi, Aoife Clark-McGhee and Svea Nolte. As part of a medical internship, they set up sustainable toy making workshops at the General Justice Gizenga Mpanza Regional Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. These early experiences motivated Benedetta, Aoife and Svea to found GRASP, with the aim of teaching high quality toy-play interaction between children and their caregivers to promote cognitive development. To achieve this, GRASP developed The Toy Making Project.
